2008 MOUNTADAM HIGH EDEN Estate CHARDONNAY
The wine has a light golden colour, with classic Chardonnay fruit aromas of peach, nectarine and nashi pear. The typical Mountadam Chardonnay characters of grilled nuts with clove and nutmeg spice supported by a citrus (grapefruit) core, contribute to the length of flavour of this wine.
2006 MOUNTADAM HIGH EDEN 'The Red'
This wine is deep red in colour with a vibrant purple hue. The aromas are of piquant new French oak complementing the refined fruit characters. The palate shows a very stylish tannin structure balanced to the delicate yet intense fruit flavours, showing hints of ripe red cherries and red capsicum. It is a blend of 55% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Shiraz and 3% Cabernet Franc.
2006 MOUNTADAM HIGH EDEN 'The Patriarch' Shiraz
This wine has a vibrant red colour with a subtle tinge of purple. Delicate floral and spicy characters of cool climate Shiraz complement the focused yet lingering red stone fruit aromas. The palate has a smooth velvety tannin structure with a compelling balance of firmness and tremendous fruit flavour. The wine shows extraordinary length of flavours with plums, cherries and black berries, woven around the characters imparted from quality oak barriques sourced from the central forests of France. The wine undoubtedly has serious aging potential.
2008 MOUNTADAM EDEN VALLEY PINOT GRIS
The wine is a mild salmon pink colour and shows delicate aromatics of jasmine blossom and ripe melon. The palate has abundant textural flavours of ripe apples and pear with a firm citrus backbone.
2006 MOUNTADAM EDEN VALLEY SHIRAZ VIOGNIER
This is the first Mountadam Shiraz Viognier! The renowned Old World blend of Shiraz with the white grape; Viognier is relatively new in Australia. In cool climates such as ours this blend produces wines of vibrant colour with a distinct richness and perfume, balanced to the innately spicy Shiraz.
2008 MOUNTADAM EDEN VALLEY RIESLING
The cool climate and unique geology of the Eden Valley produces Riesling of distinctive character which rewards aging. The wine shows gentle spice and rose-petal aromas.
2008 MOUNTADAM ADELAIDE HILLS SAUVIGNON BLANC SEMILLON
The overt spiciness and distinct characters of Sauvignon Blanc have been tempered by the delicate floral and citrus tones of cool climate Semillon. A small percentage of barrel fermented chardonnay was blended into the final wine to add a modest touch of texture and length of flavour. Intense lively aromas of freshly cut grass and ripe gooseberry lead to the tantalizing flavours of tropical fruit and a firm acid balance.
2008 MOUNTADAM BAROSSA CHARDONNAY
In blending this wine, a balance of the most intense fruit aromas and flavours is sought, capturing the exquisite characteristics of the Chardonnay grape without the influence of oak. Intense lively aromas of ripe peach and melon carry through on the palate with distinctly fresh acidity typical of cool climate Chardonnay.
2007 MOUNTADAM BAROSSA SHIRAZ
The wine has a deep red colour with vibrant purple tinges. The primary aromas are of cracked pepper and dark ripe plums with subtle spicy smokiness. Flavours are of cherries, dark chocolate and vanilla with a firm tannin structure and persistent length of fruit flavour.
2007 MOUNTADAM BAROSSA CABERNET MERLOT
A blend of 75% Cabernet, 25% Merlot, this wine has subtle purple tinges of medium intensity. Spicy Cabernet aromas are integrated with the deep red earth scents of Merlot. The palate is of lively primary grape fruit flavours of plum and cherry supported with subtle hints of vanillin, tobacco and fennel.
