The wine has a deep red colour on release. The wine has perfumed blue fruits, violets, chocolate and spice aromas. The palate is fruit forward with characters of plum and blackberry dominating the mid-palate. The wine has an underlying spiciness and supple round tannins.
The fruit was harvested in late March 2015. The parcels were fermented in 8T fermenters with heading down boards. The ferment was rack and returned twice daily. Maturation was carried out for twelve months in French oak barriques (10% new barrels, 50% 1-2 year old barrels, 40% older barrels). The wine can be enjoyed young but will reward careful cellaring for up to and possibly beyond 2024.
