Mountadam, a proud estate, has surged back into top gear over the last few years, crafting some truly stellar wines. I love the use of oak here. Not shy, following 12-14 months in barrique, it nevertheless serves as an adjunct, toning the cavalcade of stone fruit flavours while providing welcome signposts for the savoury, exceptionally long, solidsy/nutty finish. The acid is a plume. Juicy and palate-whetting. As Burgundian as Australia gets.
